Village Harmony Concert Hawes Bay

Sunday 19th of January, 7 pm: Concert at St Andrew's Presbyterian church. Fundraiser for CBM ( Christian Blind Mission) to support their work with disabilities in Madagascar. KOHA

Dear fellow song leaders and choir directors and musicians,

An opportunity is coming in the new year to meet an international group of singers and attend singing workshops with world renowned choir directors Matlakala Bopape from South Africa and Patty Cuyler from the US. They are part of Village Harmony's first ever New Zealand singing camp.

Village Harmony is a not-for-profit educational organization based in the US dedicated to the study, performance and celebration of diverse styles of traditional choral music. Working with an international team of culture-bearing musicians we provide a wide range of educational and performance opportunities for amateur musicians around the world. Their aim is to promote cultural awareness and community through direct and ethical cultural exchange.

While in New Zealand, after a week of intensive learning from Matlakala Bopape, Patty Cuyler, Keepa and Rosina Smith and me,  songs from South Africa, Corsica, Georgia, US, Madagascar and New Zealand, the group will travel around the lower part of the North Island to offer concerts and public workshops. They will also have sessions with Charles Ropitini and Tevivi Daniels in Hawkes Bay.

The singers on this tour are from the US, UK, Canada, Taiwan, Germany and Singapore. They are looking for hosts for billeting while in New Zealand. Please email me at oohlalamusic1@gmail.com if you or your singers can help.
