Marianna is a Brit with family on North Island. A pianist, singer, teacher, and song-writer, she lived in Levin between 2014 and 2019, founding the choir Sing Out Levin, and leading Let’s Sing Otaki for two years.

Hailing from the Kaipara area, north of Tāmaki-makau-rau, Auckland she is a the song leader for Community Choir “Assorted Biscuits”.

Lee believes singing is for everyone. She wants to help return us to our birthright and tradition of the joy, beauty and connection of community singing regardless of experience, ability or confidence. Lee is also appreciative of the healing power of singing and enjoys creating simple medicine songs for herself and others and singing to those in need of nurturing.

Susie is currently musical director of several choirs at Queen Margaret College and has now taken up the vocal and instrumental music programme at Thorndon Primary school. She has been a guest presenter for workshops, conferences, and festivals throughout the region.

Brooke brings experience and expertise: as a seasoned arranger and composer, she is high school Kaiako and beloved MD for Mosaic Choir, an un-auditioned community.

Shannel Courtney has been a song-leader for over 20 years. Based in Nelson, he leads Mosaic, a 45 voice community choir who love to sing world music.

Andrea is a part-time music teacher, trained Music Therapist and Song Leader, living and working in Wellington.

An advocate for community singing, Lala deeply believes in supporting singers to find their voice and how every voice matters.

Natural voice, group singing is an active, relational intervention, between a song leader and singers. My goal is to intentionally create spaces for inclusive and participatory singing that places emphasis on cooperation and cultural democracy. Singing literally gives “voice” to those who take part.

Passionate about getting people singing, which is how I became a Song Leader and I truly believe that group singing builds communities.

Nino’s current interest through song leading and vocal coaching is helping the 'actor' better embody music and their understanding of it through their singing voice and helping the 'singer' better embody their musical knowledge and translate that into presence and authentic performance.

The highlight of my working week is co-leading SoundsWell Singers, a neurological choir for people with Parkinson’s disease, Aphasis post-stroke, dementia, and other conditions.

Song leader Tui Mamaki draws from a unique pool of vocal traditions, including Chant Basque (South of France), Khyal (India), Jazz Improvisation, and Bulgarian Folk Song / Polyphony, to take participants on a playful yet connected journey through breath, tone, harmony and rhythm. Traditional songs from around the world are a vessel for the work. A passionate workshop facilitator since 2002, Tui believes all human beings are born to sing !
