Megan Glass
I am a NZ Registered Music Therapist, based in Wellington and working across Wellington and Porirua with a varied client group, from children with special education needs to older adults with neurological conditions.
I also supervise music therapy students and do some examining work for the post-graduate music therapy course at Victoria University. The highlight of my working week is co-leading SoundsWell Singers, a neurological choir for people with Parkinson’s disease, Aphasis post-stroke, dementia, and other conditions. In my spare time, I'm a member of Wellington Batucada, where I get to make music of a very different style with an awesome bunch of people, and take out the week's frustrations on a very large drum!
Singing, and in particular singing with others, brings me great joy. I am delighted to be part of the SLNA committee this year, having been a member for a few years now. I’m looking forward to being more actively involved with SLNA and learning from you all, and to being a voice on the committee to help meet the needs of the many Registered Music Therapists in our group who are also song leaders.
