About our workshop
A day of singing in the Wairarapa with Nino Raphael & Vocal Blokes
Come along to a day of song with two 2-hour workshops led by musical director, composer and vocal coach, Nino Raphael.
The workshops may be of particular interest to established choirs, actors, young people and song leaders. But anyone who loves singing is welcome. No singing experience needed.
You can attend one, or even better, both workshops.
Workshop One. Embodying your voice through songs of the world.
10-12 noon, Saturday 3 August
A 2 hour workshop on helping unlock further range, support and resonance in the singing voice through learning songs in 2 and 5 part harmony from Croatia, Africa, Aotearoa and the USA.
Workshop Two. Sing with Vocal Blokes.
1-3pm, Saturday 3 August
A 2 hour workshop and introduction to Vocal Blokes, a male vocal group from Wellington. Join the blokes as we work together and share our voices as a combined choir. This workshop is open to all – not just blokes!
As part of this workshop, participants will learn several songs and have the opportunity to sing along with the blokes at their Songs in the Key of Love concert that afternoon (4-5.15pm) .
