The Bay of Plenty Music School is an annual event, held over the last weekend of the Term 1 school holidays at various centres around the Bay of Plenty. It caters for choral, orchestral and band musicians, providing a unique learning and working opportunity in a relaxed atmosphere under the guidance of experienced conductors and section leaders. This builds towards a performance on the Sunday afternoon.
The choral programme run by Julian Raphael and Laura Durville, will offer singers a selection of diverse styles of traditional choir songs from the world’s cultures including music that is embedded in the cultural life of Aotearoa. Julian Raphael and Laura Durville are passionate song-leaders who bring to every singing workshop a commitment to accessibility, enjoyment and a celebration of life in music.
