Momentous Matariki Lead In Gathering with leaders from around Aotearoa

What a privilege and joy to come together with song leaders from all around Aotearoa on our new public holiday Matariki.

We are off to a cracker start to the weekend, rich stories shared in the Mihi Whakatau to divine sharing of food and songs swapped on our first evening together.

It feels so joyful to connect with new friends along with bonding again for chats with our existing members.

Friday has also been a rich day of workshops, challenging theory and concepts, walking song out and giving thanks.

While I am writing this to you we are learning Matariki songs for our Matariki pre-dawn ceremony tomorrow.

Like all retreats when you are enriched creatively and stretched in practice, you want more, more, more. You can get intoxicated on the good experience.

Thank goodness there are two more days for us to enjoy together.
